This page collects the questions we are asked most often about the HEMIOS Hematite Bracelet — what it is made from, how it fits, how to care for it, whether it can get wet, and how orders, delivery and returns work. Each answer is short and factual, with links to the longer guides where a topic deserves more detail. If something is not covered here, our FAQ and contact page are the next stops.
One note up front: HEMIOS sells the bracelet as a wellness accessory and piece of jewellery, not a medical device, and makes no health claims about it. Where a question touches on traditional meanings or claimed effects, we separate verifiable facts from belief and from statements that have no scientific support.

Materials and authenticity
What exactly are the beads?
They are polished hematite beads, an iron oxide mineral with the formula Fe2O3, strung on a strong elastic cord. Hematite is dense (specific gravity around 5.3), has a metallic sheen, a Mohs hardness of 5.5-6.5, and leaves a characteristic red-brown streak. The Understanding Hematite page has the full mineral profile.
Is it real hematite or a manufactured bead?
Check the current material description on the product page. Natural hematite is only weakly magnetic; a bead that clings strongly to a magnet is usually manufactured or deliberately magnetised. Our authenticity page explains the streak, weight, lustre and magnet checks you can do at home.
Will it lose its shine?
A mirror polish can dull with sweat, oils and abrasive contact, but a soft-cloth wipe restores it. Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners; the hematite bracelets collection and our care guide cover the routine.
Sizing and fit
How do I measure my wrist?
Wrap a soft tape, or a strip of paper you then measure against a ruler, snugly around the wrist just below the wrist bone. That number is a circumference, not a diameter.
How much bigger should the bracelet be?
Add roughly 1-2 cm (about half an inch) of ease for a stretch bracelet. A comfortable fit lets one fingertip slide under the strand; if you are between sizes, round up.
What if it does not fit?
Check the size specification and the return and exchange information shown on the product page and at checkout, and contact us if your measurement sits near a boundary. Keeping the packaging until you are sure is sensible.
Care and water
Can I shower or swim with it?
We do not recommend it. Water will not rust the stone, but repeated soaking affects the elastic cord, any metal fittings and the polish. Remove it before showering, swimming, saunas and heavy exercise.
How do I clean it?
Wipe each bead with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately and thoroughly with a second dry cloth. Let it air-dry fully before storage. The full routine is in our cleaning and care guide.
Does hematite rust or turn my wrist green?
Hematite is already iron oxide and does not rust. A green or grey mark on the skin usually comes from plated metal fittings or residue, not the stone; remove the bracelet, wash the skin and stop wearing it if irritation occurs. See the FAQ.
Orders, delivery and returns
How much is it and where do I buy it?
The current price, options and any available discounts are shown on the official product page. We sell a single product, so there is no confusing catalogue of near-identical items.
How long does delivery take and what are the options?
Shipping options, costs and estimated timings are displayed at checkout and on the FAQ, since they vary by destination. Exact charges appear before you pay, not after.
What if I want to return or exchange it?
Return and exchange terms are shown at checkout and in our store policies. Read them before buying, keep your order confirmation, and contact us with any question about a specific order.
Health questions: three clear layers
What can be verified
The bracelet is a physical accessory: iron oxide beads on an elastic cord, with a measurable weight, hardness and appearance. Fit, materials, care and policies are all checkable facts.
What traditional beliefs say
In crystal traditions hematite is associated with grounding and steadiness. These are cultural beliefs and personal meanings, not measured effects. People may enjoy a bracelet as a symbol or a reminder, which is a perfectly legitimate reason to wear jewellery.
What has no scientific support
Claims that a bracelet produces measurable health outcomes are not supported by reliable scientific evidence. HEMIOS does not make such claims. We sell the Hematite Bracelet as a wellness accessory and piece of jewellery, not a medical device, and make no health claims about it. See our Transparency & Safety page for the full position.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear it every day?
Yes, with sensible care: take it off before water, heavy exercise and sleep, wipe it with a soft cloth, and store it in a dry pouch.
Can I wear it with a watch?
Yes. Many people wear it on the opposite wrist from the watch, or on the same wrist with a small gap so the two do not rub.
Is it a good gift if I do not know the size?
A one-size elastic bracelet is a lower-risk gift than a fixed-size bangle. Check the size range and the return options at checkout, and keep the packaging until the fit is confirmed.
Where can I read the long-form answers?
Start with Understanding Hematite for the material, our care guide for maintenance, and the FAQ for orders.
Does HEMIOS make any health claims?
No. The bracelet is sold as a wellness accessory and piece of jewellery, not a medical device, and no health claims are made. See Transparency & Safety.
